Welcome to Widdrington Village
Widdrington is a small village in Northumberland, located about six miles north of Morpeth and near the North Sea coast at Druridge Bay. Positioned on the A1068 coastal route between Blyth and Amble, it offers a blend of historical charm and picturesque surroundings.
Once a compact farming settlement with a single row of houses the village retains a close-knit community feel. It is home to a pub, a Women's Institute Hall, and two historic churches.
Widdrington Village boasts historical significance dating back to King James I, a parish church and remnants of Widdrington Castle, an 18th-century Scheduled Ancient Monument. The ruins of Chibburn Preceptory first recorded in 1313, housing the community of the Knights Templars remain in situ.
